The game uses your phone’s compass and accelerometer. The compass is used to determine the direction you are facing. To change the direction of your cast, hold the phone in front of you and rotate you body so that the phone points in the direction you want to cast. You can also rotate by swiping your finger across the screen to the left or right. Before you start casting, test your phone’s tilt sensors and calibrate them to ensure they are working correctly. You can tap the small compass icon in the lower left corner at any point to freeze the compass rotation and improve the accuracy of your casting.

Realistic 3d fish can be see swimming beneath the waves when they are close and will often jump to give away their location when farther away. To cast, hold the phone upright with the screen facing you and simply flick your wrist as though the phone were the handle of a fishing rod. You can cast farther by flicking faster. Next, you must reel the line in until it is taut. To reel the line in, simply swipe your finger downwards, anywhere on the screen. The more you swipe, the faster the handle will move. To hook a fish pull back on your phone, just like you would the handle of a fishing rod when hooking a real fish. If a fish comes near your bait, you will feel your phone vibrate slightly. A small hook symbol will appear at the top of the screen whenever a fish is biting. Pull back on your phone to set the hook and catch the fish.

Once you have a fish on the line, a colored bar will appear at the top of your screen. You must get this bar as close to full as possible to catch the fish. If the bar is red it means the fish is close to getting away. Pull back on your phone to increase the hook strength and prevent the fish from getting away. Once you feel you have sufficient hook strength try reeling in the fish. As the fish gets closer, it will start fighting harder. You will feel the phone vibrate forcefully and the hook strength meter will start dropping. It is usually best to hook a fish farther out and build up our hook strength before reeling it in. Once you catch a fish make sure you reel it all the way to the top of the screen.

You will need lures to attract bigger fish. A small tacklebox will appear on the lower left corner of the screen, when you are ready to cast. Click on the tacklebox to view the lures that are available to you. Some lures are better for catching certain type of fish. So, select your lures wisely. Each fish is worth a certain amount of money based on the type of fish and its weight. After you catch a fish you can take a picture to view later or share with friends. You can also now keep the money and lures you have earned after you finish the game.
